Who are the children?

What is their need?

Picture
Picture
There are approximately 40 boys .
They are novice monks and poor village children who cannot afford the cost of government schooling. Some are orphans & some are from areas where there is fighting and civil unrest.
They are now receiving  Govt. schooling at Aung Thaikdi Mahamyaing Monastery Hlaing ,Yangon. This is a poor monastery in a crowded area
They need education and opportunity.
Most children leave the Monastery school at 11 years old. They can not afford the middle  school fees. It costs approx $250 US a year per child.
Those without family  or employable skills,  can end up homeless and struggling to survive. Some live on the streets, Some end up involved with crime, drugs and sex slavery.
With some English &  the ability to use a computer they will have  a greater chance of employment & supporting themselves. Sponsoring one of these children through middle & high school would be an enormous gift that will change his/her life.
